ChaNorth Summer Residency - Pine Plains, New York ChaNorth is a New York State artist residency aimed at providing a nourishing, focused environment for emerging and established artists as they continue their committed practices.
Imagine everything a writer needs—time, quiet, inspiration—and add in the beautiful surroundings of the Tuscan countryside, sumptuous meals, incredible hospitality, and a roomful of fascinating writers for cocktail hour and dinners every night.

Drawing the line between what you intend to accomplish and what you have already accomplished can be meaningful. The program gives artists complete freedom during their residency, but also provides resources and weekly lectures for guidance and feedback.
One grant is awarded annually each year through a competitive application process. Each resident is expected to provide a service to benefit the Red Wing Community by giving a talk, reading or other types of activity.
Admission for these residencies is based on a panels review of the applicant's work with selection determined by professional achievement or the promise of future achievement. In the winter, the writer-in-residence lives in the house with a separate, indoor writing studio.
The residencies are free, self-directed and balance private time with community. You can then move into a discussion of how you want to either build on those ideas through exploring a different theme or that through exploring those ideas it has led you to develop ideas or questions that you'd like to explore customer paper writing a different theme.
